Hailing from Jackson, Mississippi, DJ Freaky was raised in a home where music was more than background noise—it was the heartbeat of daily life. From the soul-stirring power of Gospel to the raw emotion of Blues, the groove of R&B, and the storytelling of Hip-Hop, these sounds shaped his foundation. A proud graduate of Jackson State University, his deep-rooted connection to music evolved into a lifelong passion and a thriving career.

Drawn to the culture, DJ Freaky immersed himself in the underground hip-hop scenes while staying true to the soulful sounds of the South. With relentless determination, he invested in his craft—mastering the art of DJing and building a reputation at local virtual parties and events. His ability to connect with people through music, combined with an unmatched hunger to grow, quickly set him apart.

The journey took a pivotal turn when he partnered with Robert Rosenthall (Your Favorite Cousin Chief) , a respected consumer marketing strategist and leader at MBR Media. Together, they helped launch GC Radio—creating a platform designed to make music more accessible while giving DJ Freaky the space to refine his sound and expand his reach. That experience elevated his versatility, allowing him to move effortlessly across genres and deliver the kind of energy that keeps dance floors alive.

Today, DJ Freaky stands as a dynamic force in music—blending Southern soul, hip-hop culture, and crowd-moving energy into every set. Whether he’s commanding the Drive At Five slot on Southern Soul Superstars or spinning at exclusive events, he lives up to the name: The Mississippi King.
